Rev. Mark Parkinson – Pastor Mark started at Union Christian Church on March 28, 2021 as the Transitional Minister and was recently called on August 29, 2021 as the permanent Minister.

Following an Honorable Discharge from the USMC, he was a Journeyman Meat Cutter for Marsh Supermarkets. Deciding to change careers, he worked for 12 years for Conrail railroad in the Signal & Communications Department. Mark earned an undergraduate business degree in Management Information Systems from Ball State University. That accomplishment opened the door to work for a software development firm in Muncie, Indiana; which included some time as a Human Resource Specialist over performance management.

Pastor Mark entered seminary at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis in January 2010; graduating with a Master of Divinity degree in May of 2013. He has served a two-point charge in United Methodist Church in Indiana and Disciples of Christ congregations in Indiana, Virginia, and Illinois.

Pastor Mark grew up in Yorktown, Indiana and married Kendala (Foster) Parkinson on August 28, 1970. They have three grown daughters who are married and have blessed them with six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
